It s About Time Julie Returned - It s About Time is a very good debut album from Julie Reeves. I can t figure out why she didn t go further off this. This ablum has a whole bunch of energy and life and just plain fun in it. Julie s voice is enticing and has a nice acent to it. This is very good mainstream female coutnry. Great songs:Trouble Is a Woman - feistyDo You Think About MeParty DownAll or Nothin It s About TimeWhateverWhat You Get is What You SEe - Julie does a very good countryfied remake of this song
Don t Miss This One! - This is an incredible debut album from Julie Reeves. She never really took off, but this is just a kind reminder of what Nashville missed out on. What an incredible voice! The songs on here are engaging and memorable. The singles were the uptempos Trouble Is A Woman and the title track, and the heartfelt ballad What I Need. None of them really caught on with radio, which is a shame but their loss! There s some great uptempos on here like Do You Think About Me, Whatever and All Or Nothing and great ballads like If Heartaches Had Wings and You Were A Mountain. Check this one out!
Blown Away! - When I heard this CD, I was literally blown away by Julie Reeves talent! Her voice is distinct and different from anything on country radio. This album received wide critical acclaim, but it never found it s voice for radio, which is strange. There s a nice mixture of uptempo honky tonks and heartfelt ballads. The album starts off strong with three uptempo songs, Trouble Is A Woman, Do You Think About Me and Party Down. They are all nice songs, Do You Think About Me reminds of Pam Tillis song Deep Down for some reason. I think it s the arrangement. What I Need is a really nice ballad about asking someone to be sure about their intentions. The title track is a fun, catchy song that was the album s first single. Whatever is a nice kiss off song that would have been a great choice for single. She shows her softer side on songs like You Were A Mountain, If I d Never Loved You, If Heartaches Had Wings, etc. She kicks it up on songs like All Or Nothing, What You Get is What You See, etc. This is a top notch effort and I hope one day Julie Reeves decides to record another album!
UNBELIEVABLE - This album is perhaps a jewel, one in a million as some may say. I followed Julie from the beginning, critics raved about this album and so did country music fans BUT radio barely picked up on the marvel known as Julie Reeves. The title track It s about time is infectious as well unique. Trouble is a Woman had small radio succcess, but should have been a huge hit. What I need had the most radio success on the album, just cracking the top 40. If Julie decides to come out with a second album, radio u better embrace this artist. U would be a fool not 2.
It s About Time - Julie Reeves - I was on a long trip and was listening to Trisha Yearwood s new CD and decided to change to Julie Reeves CD - It s About Time. I only bought the CD for one song -- What I Need, but I quickly fell in love with the entire CD. Needless to say, this CD is 10x better than Trisha s (and she is my favorite country artist) and Julie is the best kept secret in country music today. Buy the CD and listen to it -- it is rare to find a CD in which ALL the songs are potential Top 30 hits - especially If Heartaches Had Wings. I m sure some of the major female artists would have loved to record this song on their latest CD s. A truly GREAT CD that you will play over and over again...
